Homotoxicology – a branch of homeopathy – is a study in the maintenance of a body system that is stable, neutral and promotes self-regulation. Breaking down the word will show – “homo” = man ; “toxico” = toxin or poison ; “logy” = study of.

Put together, the word means the study of the effects of toxins on the human body.

Where do the ingredients come from?

Homotoxicology utilizes principles from clinical homeopathy, combination product homeopathy and isopathy. The ingredients of homotoxicology derive from several sources – plants, minerals, catalysts and homeopathically adjusted diseased-tissues from humans and animals. Remedies that are produced from these ingredients are collectively known as anti-homotoxic remedies.

What is this? What can it do?

The clinical purpose of using anti-homotoxic remedies are:

• drain and detoxify the body (排毒)
• modulate (or pacify) the immune system (調製免疫系統)
• cell support (體內細胞支援)
• organ support (器官支援)

The aim of using homeopathy / homotoxicology therapy is to disband a disease with minimal harm to the rest of the body and minimal drug residue. In the process of doing so, anti-homotoxic therapies can be added to further support relevant organs  and cells that are deemed involved in the disease process.

Anti-homotoxic remedies are usually presented in these forms, all of which can be safely used and well accepted by animals as well as in humans:

• injectable liquid
• oral liquid
• gel or ointment
• tablet

Will such remedies clash with western medicine?

Anti-homotoxic remedies are often used in conjunction with western medicine, with great safety margin.

These remedies can be used to support the short-comings of western medicine (for example anti-inflammatories are contraindicated in patients with kidney disease or stomach ulcers). In addition, when an intensive (especially prolonged) course of western medicine has been completed, these remedies are useful in extending some of the intended effects of western medicine but generally without the latter’s side effects. These remedies can be used to support the organs that may have inadvertently become collateral damage subsequent to the use of potent western medicines – such as antibiotics, anti-seizure medicines, anti-inflammatories and chemotherapy.

Side effects – Is this something I need to worry about?

Anti-homotoxic remedies have little to no side effects. In fact, it can be used to manage and alleviate the “side effects” of western medicines.

Anti-homotoxic medicines are extremely diluted (經稀釋) yet brings on potent effects. On the one hand, western medicines boast its potency effects by way of the strength of the drug – that means, the stronger the medicine, the more efficacious one expects it to be. Unfortunately, as medicines become stronger, the burden imposed on other organs and the risk of side effects worsens. On the other hand the potency of an anti-homotoxic medicine is  judged on how diluted it is. As a result, problems such as side effects, “irreversible damage” and “anaphylactic reactions” that are so commonly heard of when mentioned in the same breath with “Western medicine” – are rarely of concern.

Anti-homotoxic medicines are usually palatable and easy to feed. These medicines may be given directly into the mouth or added to food with good results.

What can Homotoxicology treat?

Homotoxicological treatments can be applied to most diseases as in western medicine. Obviously, homotoxic principles will not mend bones and will not remove a cancer from your pet. However, the stress, inflammation, pain and tissue damage caused by the episode of trauma which causes the bone to break or the cancer to evolve – can be dealt with using anti-homotoxic medicines.

When should I consider Homotoxicology for my pet?

Homotoxicology principles can be applied at any stage of a disease. The sooner you recognize an abnormality and apply these remedies, the quicker the positive effect.

Anti-homotoxic medicines are gentle yet potent which makes it considerably safer to be applied on ailing and aged animals. These medicines work very rapidly in acute diseases such as drug overdose, intractable diarrhea and bleeding problems.

Ultimately, it is the belief that diseases develop over a long period time, with repeated stressors inflicted onto the body both internally (poor diet, medical implants, hormonal imbalance and free radicals etc.) and externally (pollutions, drugs, toxins and chemicals etc.). Early detection and treatment using anti-homotoxic remedies can completely reverse the disease process; whereas chronic and repetitive stress ultimately lead to irreversible damage – manifesting as cancers and organ failure. Treatment of chronic diseases will therefore take longer to achieve a cure or reach stability.
